Let the marijuana debates begin!

Where do I start? I have been in so many arguments with friends over marijuana topics. The list of possible debates just goes on and on. Some of these debates hit home for many of us because they are things that we have had to argue with close members of our family. I just wanted to get the ball rolling with some ideas and I hope everyone contributes!

For starters, I want to get to the bottom of WHY DO YOU SMOKE? Some people claim to smoke because it helps them sleep. Others claim to smoke because it is a stress reducer. I think people simply smoke for the same reason others drink. It is just a way to cope with life and the curveballs that life throws at you. We are not all programmed the same. Some people handle stressful situation better than others. Unfortunately, those who don’t handle stress well have the option to turn to alcohol or cannabis. Interestingly enough, we call those who turn to alcohol – alcoholics. We now call those who turn to weed, potheads or stoners. Call me anything you want. If it makes me live happier and it makes those around me happier, I don’t care.

Personally, I smoke for one simple reason. It puts my mind at ease for the time I am smoking. A good friend once told me that smoking marijuana simply creates thought bubbles that last a few seconds. That is one of the best analogies I have ever heard. I don’t want to dwell on the stress of everyday life. I have enough to deal with at work and with family issues. I just want to think about something for a few seconds and then move on. Life is too precious to spend it worrying. So, to those who smoke for that purpose, I salute you!

And now, one of my favorit weed debate topics. Do you get a better high smoking from a vaporizer, a one-hitter, an apple, a joint, a hooka or a water bong. I am putting all of this to the test utilizing 4 different types of pot. So you ask what marijuana strains are being used for this experiment?

Medusa
Blackberry Kush
Godfather
Granddaddy Purp

I think that the strain is very important. I am sure that results will vary but the underlying question is within your favorite strand, is there a difference between what you use to smoke and is the feeling from each one different?

You did not think I was just going to use some random pot did you? I have not gotten far in the study. The main reason is that I have a hard time smoking only one strand, one way. So, the experiment is taking longer than usual. However, I am committed to report my findings one day. Stay tuned!

I have a lot of friends who smoke what they can get their hands on. I realize that to many people, pot is pot! However, I have come to realize that marijuana is like wine! There is cheap wine that will give you a headache. There is expensive wine that will give you a headache. I am on a life-long mission to find that perfect strain that I enjoy, regardless of whether it is considered cheap or expensive! This almost goes back to the argument of why do you smoke? However, I am very curious about whether people understand that different strains will give a completely different feeling. I honestly don’t think everyone out there understands this. I think everyone thinks weed is this disgusting, stinky thing people smoke to just pass out and vegetate on a couch! I find Super Green Crack to be some of the best marijuana available for ME. Note I said, for ME! Everyone is different. I encourage everyone to test this!

Is it safe to drive after smoking marijuana? I like this pot debate! I know individuals who drive vehicles for transportation companies and I know they are under the influence. I think that some hard core smokers are going to argue that it is perfectly fine. I have smoked the kush and I have drank with some heavy weights. I definitely think that when it comes to driving, alcohol is much more impairing! With that said, I do not think ANYONE should drive under the influence of cannabis. Specially, if they do not understand the strain and its possible effects. If you have a medical prescription and you have the control to smoke within the specified dosages, it is a choice only an individual can make. It is interesting that I feel more alert at times when I smoke weed and wind up behind a wheel. However, it is not right. I am driving scared and it is just not a good feeling. I guess that is why it is a cannabis debate!

And now, legal vs illegal. The million dollar debate on marijuana! Should ganja be legal? Hmmmm! In 1 short word, Yes. It is not right to prescribe all of this medication to people because they are depressed when they could just be smoking weed. I am almost starting to realize that this is completely controlled by the pharmaceutical industry, as they know that it will destroy their anti-depressant control over people. Every one of those bottles comes with a warning, do not operate a vehicle! Hey, put that warning on a bag of marijuana and then you can call it legal. I know this is going to stir up a lot of controversy and I am hoping people post some good arguments towards each of these topics and any other marijuana related debatable items!
