Why would someone want to grow weed? Most likely because they want to get their supply for free! To grow quality weed takes a lot of time, effort, and can be rather expensive depending on the size of the project.
Simple marijuana Growing Guide:
Growing weed in any fashion typically follows a general time line. Start by germinating the seed to get the seed ready to plant. Then plant the seed. Once the plant sprouts out from the soil, nurture and love the marijuana plant like a child. Like a child, the more attention you give your marijuana plant the better it turns out.
Before moving forward, determine if the plant is female (*Important Note: Having male plants near a female plant can lower the quality of the marijuana [The male plant pollinates the female plant, giving your buds seeds]). To do this, compare the plant to pictures online, but it may be difficult to know for sure. For best success growing marijuana try to start with feminized seeds (you can buy feminized marijuana seeds online) or with a clone (you can buy a clone from a medical dispensary [if you are a medical marijuana patient]).
If it is a female then the plant is ready to flower. To do this expose the plant to 12 hour periods of darkness flowed by 12 hour periods of light. Then the plant will begin to bud (flower). Once the buds have developed fully, pick the buds and hang them in a ventilated space for drying. Once they are finished drying, smoke the fruits of your labor.
Here are a few common methods used to grow weed:
Growing Marijuana Outdoors
Plant and wait. Just find a place with nice soil that isn’t disturbed often and plant your seed. Return a few months later to a fully grown plant. This method is not recommended if you want the weed to be of high quality.
Garden Method. Plant the marijuana seed in a garden (any place with nice soil will work) or in large size pot. Water and provide nutrients throughout the life of the plant (*Important Note: Marijuana will grow best in soil with a pH of 6.5 to 7. In temperature between 24 to 30 °C). The plant will begin to flower when nights become longer (12-13 hour nights will start the process), so adjust the time you plant the seed to your local weather. Typically, planting your outdoor marijuana in the spring is recommended.
Growing Marijuana Indoors (Recommended)
1.     Indoor Potted. This method can get pricey, but can be worth the investment. To grow indoors lights, pots, soil, nutrients, fans, and many other items can be needed based on the grower and the size of the operation. This method is most common because growers want to control the elements when investing in growing weed.
2.     Hydroponically. In this method the plants grow in a non-soil substance and are provided with a nutrient/water flow. The downside of this method is cost, you have all the expenses mentioned in the Pot and Soil section plus the water/nutrient flow system cost. If you can afford it this method will provide some great marijuana, but if you are a first time pot grower I would suggest trying another style.
Hybrid
Hybrid Method. Many people will start plants outside, and then bring the female plants inside for flowering. This method can provide for high quality weed; however it is easy damage the plant if it is moved too much, so be careful.
