Marijuana Information

Welcome to legalizing-marijuana.com. Our goal is become the #1 online resource for information on marijuana.

The United States is undergoing a massive change with the baby boomers becoming the future leaders of this country. What used to be looked at as "bad", "negative", "only for the losers" has now started to be accepted as nothing more than a cigarette. Can this be true? Are there enough people in the US who understand the true value marijuana can provide?

We have to turn back the clock to the prohibition of alcohol. As alcohol started to get back into main stream, the cigarette business was becoming very strong. Together, they realized that the market for them to make money was far too great. Hence, marijuana became the odd man out. For years, people have hidden the use of marijuana for medical, mental and recreational use. Successful people just don't smoke weed right?

How things have changed. You would be extremely shocked to find out how many extremely successful individuals actually smoke recreationally. Society has started to become more liberal and has began to endorse marijuana for its medicinal value. After all, if you are allowed to drink until you become practically incoherent, why can't that same person smoke instead?

What you are starting to see is the slow process of the legalization of marijuana across the United States. It is just a matter of time. Let's take a look at some of the reasons to legalize marijuana:

Benefits of Marijuana

  • Physically, marijuana interacts with our autonomic nervous system which is what allows us to relax the body. The possibilities for positive health influence is enormous.
  • The psychological benefits are phenomenal. With everyone using prescription anti-depressants, marijuana created an altered state of consciousness which allows you to simply relax, unwind and enjoy life.
  • For those trying to reach your inner spirit, look no further.

Let's not forget about the obvious medical marijuana benefits though. It helps in the fight against cancer, it helps prevent seizures, it helps in the fight against migranes and glaucoma, multiple sclerosis. The list is endless.

So how come we are not legalizing marijuana immediately? Well, not so fast. For every group of people who think that the legalization of marijuana is good. You have those prople who strongly oppose it. After all, just 20 years ago, marijuana was only smoked by "losers". So, who are these masked bandits that are stirring up the legalization of marijuana debate with negative talk? What is their leg to stand on? What are their views and opinions?

The #1 complaint is the loss of brain cells. I don't know about you, but I already feel that I have too many anyway.

  • Impaired coordination! If this is a con of marijuana, why do we allow people to drink alcohol. Then, we even allow them to get behind the wheel of a car and drive. To these nay sayers, I ask them to punish those who chose to drive under the influence of drugs to the highest degree. However, don't punish those who enjoy relaxing and staying at their house!
  • Diarrhea, cramps, weight loss, impaired sex drive. To those people, I ask them to take a serious look at where they are getting their supply. Diarrhea? I think they just ate something bad. The cannabis did not cause the diarrhea.
  • The biggest drawback to marijuana is that it becomes a gateway drug to other drugs. Maybe pot smokers should be checked for other drugs in their system while they have a medical marijuana card. If they test positive, their card is stripped. People have to be able to use their better judgement to make the right decision.
  • Smoking one joint is equal to 7-10 cigarettes. Get a vaporizer!

Let's take a look at the current movement in the United States. We can see below a list of the states that are currently distributing medical marijuana.

1. Alaska 1998, Passed by 58% of the vote. You can have 1 oz usable; 6 plants (3 mature, 3 immature)
2. Arizona 2010, talk about a close one. I think someone was doing a little weed while they were counting the last few thousand ballots. It pulled out a 50.13%) victory. You can have 2.5 oz usable; 0-12 plants
3. California 1996, this passed by 56%Proposition 215, you can have 8 oz usable; 18 plants (6 mature, 12 immature)
4. Colorado 2000, 54% of the votesBallot, 2 oz usable; 6 plants (3 mature, 3 immature)
5. DC 2010, voted in 13-0. Don't ask about this one, too difficult to understand. 2 oz dried; limits on other forms to be determined
6. Delaware 2011, Senate Bill 17 (27-14 House, 17-4 Senate), 6 oz usable

11. Nevada 2000, roared in with 65% of the vote, 1 oz usable; 7 plants (3 mature, 4 immature)

13. New Mexico 2007, Senate Bill 523 (36-31 House; 32-3 Senate) , these guys are aweful friendly with the amounts - 6 oz usable; 16 plants (4 mature, 12 immature)
14. Oregon 1998, another squeeker at 55% of the votes, 24 oz usable; 24 plants (6 mature, 18 immature)

16. Vermont 2004, Senate Bill 76 (22-7) HB 645 (82-59) , 2 oz usable; 9 plants (2 mature, 7 immature)
17. Washington 1998, Initiative 692 (59%) , ARE YOU SERIOUS à24 oz usable; 15 plants

These are your legal marijuana states my friend. Don't worry, they are all coming. Once they see the influx to the economies of each of those states, everyone just has to follow suit. Arizona's government was struggling to finance their budget. I wonder why someone suddenly decided it was ok to legalize marijuana?

This is not rocket science. People are coming to the realization that we are entitled to make our own decisions. The government already gives us enough limitations on how to run our lives. We are in no way condoning the use of marijuana illegally or inappropriately. However, when done properly and in the comfort of your own home, what's the problem? Just like everyone advocates don't drink and drive, DON'T SMOKE and DRIVE. Even though you know that you are the best driver when you smoke pot, YOU'RE NOT. Your motor functions are definitely impaired and bottom line, why put the lives of others in jeopardy.
